Amala is a Nigerian swallow food made from yam, cassava, or unripe plantain flour that is popular in the Yoruba ethnic group of Southwestern Nigeria. It is also called èlùbọ́.
Amala is often served with soups like ẹ̀fọ́, ilá, ogbono, gbẹ̀gìrì (black-eyed beans soup), and ewédú (juta leaves). It can also be eaten with abula, a mixture of gbẹ̀gìrì, ewédú, and obé ata (stew)
